We often write about the multiple uses of concrete as a building block for our towns and cities. It’s an essential material for the construction of homes, offices, factories, and shops. But it’s also central to the creation of structures that bring us together as a community, the swimming pools, sports stadia, and football grounds.
Sunday 6th November 2022 was a big day for Newport Pagnell FC fans; it was the official opening of the Steve Dart Terrace which was celebrated with a charity game between friends of the club and old players. The Custom Concrete team were able to help by supplying the concrete for the foundation for the terrace.
Steve Dart, whom the stand commemorates, passed away earlier in the year after a short illness. His enthusiasm for football at a community level, and the involvement of his whole family in Newport Pagnell Town FC, meant that the club felt passionate about commemorating his passion for the game. A fundraiser was set up and Custom Concrete were asked if there was any way in which we could help. We were glad to do so and donated a truck load of concrete to help with the foundation slab that the new stand sits on.

A Solid Foundation For Young Players
As volumetric concrete suppliers, we know all about the importance of creating the right concrete mix to ensure a solid foundation on which to build. We think it’s the same with community sports. If you create the right mix of opportunities for young people to get involved, learn skills, and play as a team, you build a solid foundation for the cohesion of the community.
Custom Concrete’s latest sponsorship deal is with Bedford Santo under 11s football team, and we’ve also been kit sponsors for the Elstow Cricket Club. It’s a great feeling to see our logo on the kit of the players, but we also enjoy being involved in the development of the club, and the dramas of the season – whatever age may be playing!
